Welcome to the redesigned Identia newsletter. Summer is almost here and it is busy in the Identia office. We had a great show at ISA in Las Vegas last month, and now I am preparing to speak at two workshops at the SEGD show in sunny San Diego. At the ISA show, we gave booth visitors a sneak peek of our private branding feature within Identia Online, as well as introduced the Identia Sign System. More information on these items can be found below.
In addition, I talked with several people at ISA about the size of the architectural sign industry, a topic that I have been working on for some time now. In this newsletter, I discuss my findings, some of which may surprise you.

What do we really know about the architectural sign industry?
I have long been frustrated that so little hard information exists about the size and nature of the architectural sign industry. Over the years, I have compared notes with magazine publishers, designers, and owners of architectural sign companies, and the subject was a topic of discussion again last month at the ISA Sign Expo in Las Vegas. Unfortunately, at the end of the day, it’s clear that there is scant real evidence on which to base a quantitative description of our industry. Opinions, hunches, and anecdotal observations are poor substitutes for facts. Let’s start with this basic question: How many architectural sign companies are there in North America?
The link below will take you to a recent blog post where I detail the methodology used to try to answer this question. As you can imagine, a seemingly simple question has a very complicated answer.

Your Branding in Identia Online
With the new private label feature, we can incorporate your logo and branding into Identia Online. This feature is available with the Office and Enterprise editions, and includes your logo on the application, a dedicated login screen, and a customized URL. In addition, we will provide a code snippet that your webmaster can incorporate into your existing web site. This will permit you and your clients to log into your branded version of Identia Online directly from your site.
At the Office Edition level, an additional one-time set up fee of $300 is charged. This fee is waived for the Enterprise Edition. |

Upcoming Identia Online Features
We are pleased to announce the release of two key enhancements later this month. One is a modification to the "red-marker" process that will allow you to assign sign type as well as capture sign message and notes while still viewing the location plan. This should make doing this type of programming more effective and efficient.
In addition, we will be releasing a "Copy Rows" function in the sign schedule. You will be able to copy a group of signs on the sign schedule, which will help automate situations where there are many signs that repeat on multiple floors of a building. |

Identia Sign System
The Identia Sign System made its debut at the ISA show in Las Vegas last month. This modular interior sign system can ordered with standard colors and typefaces, or can be customized for your project.
The Identia Sign System is manufactured and distributed by the Braille-Tac Division of Advance Corporation. Signs can be ordered using Identia Online, or direct from Advance with traditional methods.
